The HEA-Bath Spa seminar | Embedding education for sustainability in a creative and multi-disciplinary context

SML-HEA-BathSpaA seminar, titled ‘Embedding education for sustainability in a creative and multi-disciplinary context,’ will take place at Bath Spa University (BSU) on 25 March 2014.

Hosted as part of the Workshop and Seminar Series 2013/2014 of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), the event aims to share the approach and experience of the Bath Spa University’s staff-student collaboration in relation to multi- and cross-disciplinary teaching of sustainability while equipping the delegates with techniques and resources in education for sustainability.

The provisional programme comprises the following:

Welcome and introduction | HEA representative, Carolyn Bew

The Bath Spa Model: Creativity, Multidisciplinarity and Sustainability at BSU | Mark McGuinness and Georgina Gough

ESD in the BSU curriculum

Cross-curricular level 4 UG module – Matt Law and TBC

Interdisciplinary level 6 UG module – Dr Georgina Gough and Andrew Jeffreys

Creative disciplines PG module (Fashion and Textiles) – Dr Kerry Curtis and Alison Harper

Cross-curricular UG programme (Global Citizenship) – Dr Ranji Devadason and Rebecca Price

Informal interdisciplinary curricula (Geography and Creative Writing) – Dr Richard Johnson/ Dr Esther Edwards and TBC

Lunch (with opportunity to view student work/exhibition)
