Putting Education at the Heart of Sustainability, an Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship (ESDGC) Conference by Agored Cymru, will be held at Coleg Morgannwg (Glamorgan College) on 17 April 2013.
The event will coincide with the launch of the Welsh legislation for a Single Environment Body – A living Wales – new framework for our environment, our countryside and our seas and the Welsh Government’s Sustainable Development Bill, scheduled to be introduced this autumn.
The conference will see a number of speakers, including John Griffiths AM (Minister for Environment and Sustainable Development), Jane Davidson (Director of INSPIRE, Institute of Sustainable Practice, Innovation and Resource Effectiveness, University of Wales Trinity Saint David), Janet Barlow (CEO, Agored Cymru), David Fitzpatrick (CEO, Cynnal Cymru), Peter Davies (Commissioner for Sustainable Futures) and Mark McKenna (Director of Down to Earth Project).
The conference will give the delegates a choice four interactive workshops:
- Embedding ESDGC into Education
- Measuring Health and Wellbeing
- Global Learning and ESDGC
- Global Citizenship: opportunities for gaining QCF qualifications
