RCEs on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD): UN University calls for applications

SML-RCE_world_maIs your organization interested in joining the global network of Regional Centres of Expertise (RCE) on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) developed by the United Nations University? The UN University is now accepting applications for RCEs and the deadline for expressions of interest is 15 April 2013.

An RCE is a network of existing formal, non-formal and informal education organizations that deliver ESD to local and regional communities. The 116 RCEs (as of January 2013) worldwide that make up the Global Learning Space for Sustainable Development are translating the global objectives of the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (DESD, 2005–2014) into their respective local and regional contexts.

London, the first European capital city to set up an RCE, joined this global network in 2009.
