Mayor announces Low Carbon Prize winners

The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, announced the winners of the Mayor’s Low Carbon Prize at the award ceremony in City Hall in London on 6 March 2012.

The competition invited from students of universities and colleges in London original ideas that would contribute towards reducing CO2 emissions from London’s buildings. Out of over 100 entries, six winners received prize money, totalling £20,000, to develop their ideas. The panel included high profile judges such as Sir Terry Farrell and Zac Goldsmith MP.

The Berkeley Group sponsored the contest, which was supported by the London Universities Environment Group (LUEG).
